Bulk Edit

The Bulk Edit mode provides a powerful and yet relatively easy way of making modifications to many entries at the same time. Here are some of the ways it can be used:

  • To facilitate Ron Moe’s Dictionary Development Process, in which one works as much as possible one field at a time, rather than 1 entry at a time.
  • To do the traditional search and replace sorts of things, for example for orthography changes.
  • To clean up residue left over from Standard Format import.

The idea is to apply a filter, then deselect any entries which should be excluded from the bulk operation (or vice-versa). This way, you have fine control over which subset of entries is subject to the bulk operation you run.
