SIL FieldWorks Translation Editor
Translation Editor helps Bible translators edit and check Scripture in a vernacular language.
In Translation Editor, members of a translation team can do any of the following:
- Translators can edit Scripture text in almost any language of the world for which there are Unicode-based fonts, keyboards, and writing systems.
- Mother-tongue speakers can produce back translations for checking
- Translation consultants can review drafts and insert notes in a FieldWorks project.
- Translators can use anthropological and lexical data in a FieldWorks project to support translation decisions.
A FieldWorks project is a database that stores data and text related to a particular language and the people that speak it. All FieldWorks applications, except WorldPad, can store information in a project.
Along with Language Explorer and the Data Notebook, textual data is stored using Unicode. Complex rendering is fully supported.
